The award-winning Queer Youth Summit returns to Manchester on Friday 12th February 2027, bringing LGBTQ+ young people together to share their experiences, celebrate their identities and help shape a better future
The event is organised by The Proud Trust, the Manchester-based LGBTQ+ youth charity, which supports young people facing discrimination, isolation and challenges around their identities
The Proud Trust has reported a 171% increase in referrals following the April 2025 Supreme Court ruling on the legal definition of sex, highlighting the growing demand for specialist support and the difficult climate facing LGBTQ+ young people
Alarming national research reveals that 43% of LGBTQ+ pupils have experienced bullying because of who they are, while 58% of LGBTQ+ young people surveyed have seriously considered suicide and 24.8% may not complete secondary school
The Summit will give young people a platform to speak about the issues affecting their lives and help create a new Queer Youth Manifesto, influencing the charity’s future priorities and ensuring their voices are heard
Schools, colleges and community youth organisations are being invited to attend, with the Summit offering a day of friendship, belonging and queer joy alongside important discussions about young people’s futures.
