Manchester’s iconic Bridgewater Hall is turning 30, and you are invited to the ultimate birthday party. On Sunday 20 September at 4 pm, the venue opens its doors for a joyful afternoon packed with brilliant local talent, huge anthems, and uplifting community spirit.

Curated by The Untold Orchestra and hosted by broadcaster Karen Gabay, the 30th Anniversary Concert brings together famous hometown faces, rising stars, and fresh young talent for a one-of-a-kind musical celebration.

An Unmissable Star-Studded Line-up

The afternoon jumps across soul, jazz, grime, pop, and orchestral music, showing off the very best of our city’s creative scene:

  • Rowetta: The legendary Manchester vocal powerhouse will perform her classic track “So Sweet.” She will also team up with the fabulous NIA Choir for a special, brand-new version of Joy Division’s “Love Will Tear Us Apart”.

  • Banksie: Fresh from RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, the phenomenal drag artist brings show-stopping glamour to the stage with covers of Liza Minnelli’s “Cabaret” and Laufey’s “Goddess”.

  • Vulva Voce: The all-female, genre-bending string quartet will delight the audience with their energetic blend of folk, classical, and techno.

  • Matt Wilde & Roberto: Catch fresh sounds from pianist Matt Wilde, alongside grime and dancehall direct from Moss Side with Roberto.

  • Community Voices & Next-Gen Talent: Be there for the debut of the Greater Manchester Youth Orchestra, plus fantastic performances from the NIA Choir, Salford Youth Zone, and Hideout Youth Zone in Gorton.
