Manchester Village Pride: ‘No Place Like Home’

The iconic Pride parade returns to the city on Saturday 29 August.

After consultation with the LGBTQ+ community, the ‘No Place Like Home’ theme honours Manchester as a welcoming and safe place for all.

"The success of Manchester Village Pride is in the community’s hands, and now is the time to show up!"

– Carl Austin-Behan, Manchester Village Pride CIC

Both the parade and the Vigil are free. Support the Village party and charity services by purchasing your weekend passes early.

The Substance meets The Manosphere? James Wakes up

This week on Your Manchester, Belinda and Mark sit down to shine a spotlight on James Wakes Up, the latest production from Pink Zip Theatre.

As James approaches his 30th birthday with just one year to turn his life around, he makes a dramatic decision to reinvent himself. Launching an online health and fitness platform, his unconventional journey to success soon raises difficult questions about ambition, morality and the true cost of achieving your dreams.

We chat to some of the cast including Matt Radford, Elle Wilder & Toby Rothwell about the inspiration behind the production, the themes of modern success, social media, identity and responsibility, and what audiences can expect when this thought-provoking new play takes to the stage.

James Wakes Up marks Pink Zip Theatre's second production following the award-winning success of their debut play Leeches, which enjoyed an acclaimed run at the Manchester Fringe Festival 2025.

If you enjoy theatre, new writing and discovering exciting independent productions, this is an interview you won't want to miss.
