Have you ever felt like you were peeking into a secret world? FK ME TO DEATH takes us on a voyeuristic ride through late night sex clubs and wild, drug fuelled parties. It gives a very honest look at three young creatives who are battling to survive in a tough cultural landscape. It is a story that feels very real today.

At The Kings Arms Theatre, the room feels close, warm, and perfectly suited for this kind of intimate story. The play follows these friends as they try to make art and find love when everything feels like it is working against them.

The actors are absolutely brilliant. Louis Brown plays Oliver. Wow, this guy can give a speech! I really loved his raw passion during the intense hugging scenes. Katie Fletcher plays Melody, a dedicated artist with a highly charged boyfriend we never actually meet. She gave a strong performance, especially in the memorable early scene involving the lion and the cream. Marcus Fortuna gave a strong, energetic performance as Adam, a gay, sex driven young man looking for connection.

The show is incredibly powerful. It handles deep themes like drug and alcohol abuse, plus it shows how fragile love can be. The friendship between Oliver and Adam feels realistic. It is quite brutal but beautiful in parts, letting Oliver explore his complicated life and show the real pain of an overdose. I would have liked to see Adam get more solo speeches, just like Oliver did. Also, selfishly, I really wanted Adam and Oliver to end up in a gay relationship, whether it was true love or not!

The audience was completely hooked from start to finish. The crowd shared a really supportive vibe, literally holding their breath during all the quiet moments. You could feel everyone rooting for these characters.

The show has one final run tonight, 26 July, at 7pm. If you miss it, keep an eye on their Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/fmtd.play/ for updates. When you visit, do not forget to flash your Canal Street VIP Card at the bar for a lovely 15% off your drinks!
