Wine pairing, beer pairing – there’s a long history in pairing food with drinks. And whilst it might seem like gin is new to the concept, it really isn’t. Hot gin and gingerbread is one of the earliest food pairings ever recorded. A perfect little winter warmer.
I myself have hosted food and gin pairings, and even cheese and gin pairings. So this one, a selection of oysters from Randall & Aubin paired with gins from two different gin producers was going to be a little bit special. And admittedly, it was.
The hosts, Randall & Aubin offer some absolutely stunning seafood. Their full seafood platter is a sight to behold. My husband and I indulged in that particular feast for a wedding anniversary treat, alongside a rather lovely bottle of chilled white. Something I can’t help but feel we should repeat soon.
This evening, however, they had paired six servings of oysters with six gins. Three from Old Curiosity and three from Caorunn.
