Local Artisan Market Supports Charities and Community Groups

Worker Bee Markets, who run regular Artisan events across the Stockport area, are giving opportunities for cash strapped charities to raise money and awareness. They are looking to support morelocal worthy causes in 2022.

Running since 2018, Worker Bee Markets can be found regularlyfrom March in the Village Square at the centre of Bramhall Village (on the second Saturday of the month) and Reddish at Broadstone Mill Shopping Outlet on Broadstone Road (on the final Saturday of the month), with pop-up events planned over the Jubilee Bank Holiday in the summer, including a Fun Day at Broadstone Mill.

At every event, Market Curator Clare Simpson offers a free pitch to a charity or local community group.

This year so far, the following worthy causes have booked their free stall. Wilmslow Girls Crafts for Charity raise funds for The Christie and East Cheshire Hospice by knitting and selling characters with chocolate orange tummies. Sustainable Bramhall is an information sharing group helping advise on reducing our impact on the world. Crafts for Lupus is a new group handcrafting homeware and greetings cards in aid of Lupus research. Makants Greyhound Rescue NW hand-knit coats for dogs to help sustain their Greater Manchester kennels. 

You can find and support these stalls at our Bramhall or Reddish Markets from March onwards as they trade and chat alongside our professional makers and talented hobbyists. More will be added as they book their stalls. Any local groups who would like to apply for a free stall should contact Clare via the website.

Worker Bee Markets are the only Stockport markets committed to supporting as many local makers and traders as possible. Over 50% of makers are from the Stockport area. Often a quarter of traders come from within 3 miles of the market, reducing their carbon footprint as well as allowing customers the assurance they are buying proper local.
