We chat with niche queer house producer Forbid

Hot off the tracks of his first major release ‘Feelings’, hotly tipped DJ and producer Forbid, drops his second major single release ‘Diamond Heart’ featuring Portsmouth born pop vocalist Samuel Pack.

The track will be available to stream and download from all major streaming services on the 09/10/2020

Pushing the boundaries of queer house & tech music across the world, 24-year-old producer and DJ Brandon ‘Forbid’ today releases his newest track that was recorded, written, and produced all in lockdown. After Portsmouth singer Samuel Pack reached out to Brandon during lockdown the two soon started collaborating on the track, exchanging voice notes and messages while in different cities, to create what is set to be Forbid’s most successful track to date; fusing the profound pop vocals of Samuel Pack to the well known house sound of Forbid.

Brandon says, “This song is the first time I’ve been able to translate my emotions into a dance record, and that’s just the instrumental. Samuel’s voice made the entire thing 10x better, and it’s my proudest work yet“

The track was made from start to finish during the lockdown of Covid 2020, across the country and put together and mastered in Forbid’s home studio in Hull where Brandon currently resides. Like many artists Forbid used the lockdown period to concentrate on his productions, as well as being selected to be part of the Manchester ‘virtual’ Pride event back in August on the bank holiday weekend, (where usually thousands would gather to celebrate Manchester's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender culture and life). Forbid performed an hour’s set amongst names such as Louise Redknapp, Pixie Lott, and Gok Wan, as part of the online celebrations.

Hailing from Leeds, Yorkshire UK, the 24-year old DJ has been rapidly gaining global exposure all whilst cementing himself as the sound of nightlife in some of the most well respected clubs across the UK and Europe. With his niche queer house & tech sound, Forbid is soon becoming a unique producer who is set to establish himself as an acclaimed artist.

Forbid is no stranger the live circuit having performed to some of the biggest crowds across the UK club scene and held down multiple residences in some of the countries most notable LGBT+ venues such as Fuel, Brewers, KIKI, and VOID in Manchester, as well as most recent Tunnel in his hometown of Leeds. The talents of the Leeds DJ have also taken him overseas to the likes of The Netherlands where he performed in The Hague and also to Belgium where he performed in Hasselt.

Forbid has become an expert in producing a catalogue of remixes which has elevated him to become a highly sought-after feature to keep UK nightlife thriving. Known for his electrifying mixes of chart hits, Forbid finds his best work amongst LBGTQ+ friendly artists such as Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande.

Although known for his remixes, Forbid has created a tenacious buzz around his original music online. Released in 2017, Get You Alone, has racked up to 3.4m views on Youtube with 572,000 plays on SoundCloud. Following the astonishing response, Forbid released, ‘Overdrive’ with house DJ and producer Ben Rainey in April 2017, bringing in almost 1m Youtube views and 153,000 SoundCloud streams.

Forbid is an immense talent, bringing his refreshing remixes and original work to the beckoning ears of thrill-seeking partygoers who is destined for chart-topping glory and international success.
