"not only impressive but a revelation......totally original." The Guardian

We are really pleased to welcome Pete Morton to The Village Folk Club to celebrate our first birthday.

Pete’s new album ‘Economy’ is his first set of original songs for over three years and is an insightful, informed, honest and sometimes questioning look at the modern human condition. These wonderfully crafted songs deal with all the prevalent subjects such as need, greed, trust, communication, conflict, love, relationships, basic humanity and yes, economy.

Pete has not been idle over the three years since his last set of original songs. Several mini tours of America and Europe have kept him busy and he has also self released 'Casa Abierta’ an album of songs in different languages and a collection of new recordings of his most popular songs on the ‘Napoleon Jukebox’ album.

‘Napoleon Jukebox’ was a timely look back over Pete’s highly impressive back catalogue of great songs. Now with the release of ‘Economy’ it’s time to look forward to some moments of sanity in an increasingly mad world.

Another Train' is without doubt, Pete's most widely covered song. Popular with choirs and folk artists around the world, the song has brought hope and encouragement to countless listeners and has been heard throughout Canal Street for many years sung beautifully by the award-winning Manchester Lesbian & Gay Chorus.

So come along and hear Pete Morton. His songs and performances are a joy.
