Velvet owner Kro hospitality to open new Sister hotel

In the hotly anticipated lead-up to welcoming guests, ‘Forty-Seven’ has announced its newly appointed General Manager and Sales Manager.

The new hotel is to be led by General Manager, Ryan Thompson, and will focus on comfort and elegance, offering a one-of-a-kind experience from the perfect spot to explore the city; where guests can make ‘Forty-Seven’ memories or catch ‘Forty-Seven’ winks.

Located on one of Manchester’s most vibrant streets, the hotel will boast 32 bedrooms, including a range of duplex and signature suites - with bold designs which complement both the heritage and original features of the building.

Thompson has joined with a prestigious background in travel, events and hotels from the North-West, including Edwardian Hotels Manchester, Cottons Hotel and Spa in Cheshire and most recently, Hotel Gotham located on Manchester’s King Street.

Thompson said that the focus in his new role will be to “deliver intelligent luxury for those who appreciate both statement and style while they eat, sleep, drink and enjoy time in the heart of the city”.

A fantastic new addition to the Peter Street neighbourhood, ‘Forty-Seven’ has also appointed Amy Brown as Sales Manager, who has previously worked in sales at Manchester Victoria and Albert Hotel by Marriott. Amy has also previously worked with Ryan during her time at Edwardian Hotels.

Brown said: “I’m thrilled to be working with Ryan again. I’m looking forward to our new hospitality venture and feel that Peter Street is the perfect home for the hotel.”

With style and opulence, ‘Forty-Seven’ is where bold interior design schemes dance with the contrast of Manchester’s industrial heritage. The hotel promises to be the perfect place to stay in the heart of the city.

The high-end bedroom spaces have also been artfully curated - with sleep and the utmost comfort in mind. Each of the spaces have been designed and decorated to craft the ideal environment for getting the best possible ‘Forty-Seven’ winks.

‘Forty-Seven’, 47 Peter Street, is an area that is rich with the illustrious history of the Peterloo Massacre and the Suffragettes. The hotel will also be home to The Peterman – the bar – which promises a nod to those tales of the past. Re-forming the focus of the Petersfield stories, The Peterman adds its own twist, like that of a lemon in a good martini.

Guests and city-dwellers alike are invited to unlock hand-crafted cocktails here, in a place to hide away for afternoons with friends and loved ones, sipping cocktails late into the night.

Within Forty-Seven, Manchester’s much-loved Asha’s restaurant is also set to re-open this summer. Where tradition meets modernity to create a lovingly and uniquely elevated dining experience, Asha’s offers a regal feast, showcasing a culinary journey through India’s famed North-West frontier province.

Kro Hospitality’s other city centre venue, Velvet Hotel, Bar and Brasserie, is currently undergoing an extension of the Hotel to create an additional 18 bedrooms that will offer elegant luxury. The new rooms are a welcome addition to the already highly-rated Velvet Hotel, and aim to heighten the guest experience.

Kim Eivind Krohn, owner of KRO Hospitality, said: “We’re delighted to announce the latest update on our recent venture to create a new, exciting and extravagant hotel in the heart of Manchester’s vibrant Peter Street, which is home to popular venues including our very own Asha’s Restaurant, which will be reopening in our new hotel, ‘Forty-Seven’”.
