Upstaging Marlene Dietrich
Patricia Hartshorne returns to her favourite venue, for one performance only, at the iconic Kings Arms Theatre in Salford where she's performed many times in the past, and was entertaining audiences in September last year with DRESSING UP DIETRICH.
"'Marlene' is furious with me," says Patricia. "I've packed her away in a suitcase, and told her she's 'resting'! It's time to bring out some of my other alter egos - all as dynamic as 'Miss Dietrich' in their way.
Patricia's new comedy cabaret GIRLS WHO WEAR GLASSES comes north after delighting audiences at the Brighton Fringe in May , and features a liberated Irish nun, a South American diva, a French tart, and more ...
"The title comes from Dorothy Parker's two-liner from 1926," adds Patricia, "when she observed that:
'MEN SELDOM MAKE PASSES, AT GIRLS WHO WEAR GLASSES'
Of course, that's nearly a century ago, and no longer relevant, if it ever was. My 'girls who wear glasses' are more likely to be making the passes themselves!"
It's quirky, comic, dark and delightfully saucy . Come along and see for yourself … One performance only – so don't miss it!
