Tranuary Festival 2024

November 2023

As the calendar turns to the new year, Manchester readies itself for a celebration like no other. TRANUARY 2024, a festival uniquely crafted by and for the trans community, is set to illuminate the city with the rich and diverse talents of the UK's trans+ individuals. This festival isn't just an event; it's a vibrant movement dedicated to showcasing, empowering, and celebrating the creativity and spirit of the trans community.

Daytime Creativity: Workshops to Spark Imagination During the day, TRANUARY transforms into a creative hub, offering a variety of workshops that promise not just learning but an exploration of self-expression and identity. The Bodyline Linoprint Workshop, guided by the talented Cleo, invites attendees to dive into the intricate world of printmaking, blending art with personal expression. For those who find their rhythm in movement, the Waack 4 Me Dance Workshop, led by the charismatic Shanika Sunrise, offers a chance to dance their hearts out. And for the music enthusiasts, Beatscaping with Quieting (DJ Loveable) is a unique workshop where music production and DJing skills are at the forefront, providing a hands-on experience in the world of electronic music.

Nighttime Revelry: A Celebration of Queer Joy As the sun sets, the atmosphere in TRANUARY shifts to one of exuberant celebration. The night programme is a spectacular array of performances and music, starting with the Bread and Poses All Trans+ Cabaret Revue. This revue is not just a show but a jubilant expression of artistry, featuring a lineup of extraordinary talents like Vill, Violet Blonde, Felix Mufti, Beau Jangles, The Bollywitch, and Wesley Dikes. The energy continues to soar with the Waack 4 Me Dance Debut, a dazzling performance led by Shanika Sunrise, and culminates in a four-hour DJ session featuring the electrifying beats of DOBBS, KIM LANA, THEMPRESS, and IFEOLUWA.

A Supported Vision: The Role of the Superbia Queer Arts Grant The realization of TRANUARY 2024 owes much to the support of the Superbia Queer Arts Grant, a beacon of encouragement for queer arts and culture. This backing is crucial, not only in bringing the festival to life but in reinforcing the importance of such events in promoting diversity, inclusivity, and community within the arts.

An Invitation to Celebrate TRANUARY 2024 is more than just a festival; it's a statement of pride, a celebration of diversity, and a testament to the resilience and creativity of the trans community. We invite you to be part of this extraordinary event. Book your tickets now at superbia.org.uk/events/tranuary2024 and join us in ushering in the new year with a festival that promises to be both a celebration and a powerful expression of trans excellence.
