
The Women in Comedy Festival returns for 2023
The Women in Comedy Festival is celebrating it’s 10 th Anniversary this year at The Frog and Bucket, Manchester, 6 th -15 th October.
Created in 2012, The Women In Comedy Festival creates a supportive event yearly that celebrates, champions and promotes all things funny and female across a variety of platforms. Ten years later they’re still going strong, proving that demand for female comedians has grown exponentially and this unique festival highlights the wide-ranging talent across women in comedy. This years festival will be at The Frog and Bucket in Manchester from the 6 th -15 th October.
This year marks a special year for the organisers, Jessica Toomey (Director of The Frog and Bucket Comedy Club FAB Management) and Hazel O’Keefe (Founder of Laughing Cows).
Together they have created an important event that recognised the diverse talent across women and female identifying comedians. The demand for their 10 th year has been so strong that they have had to provide extra dates to accommodate.
Highlights from the festival have included Susan Calman, Rosin Conaughty, Jo Neary, Zoe Lyons, Jo Enright, Janey Godley, Jiri Pritchard-Mclean, Gina Yashere, Desiree Burch. Sarah Millican, Shappi Khorshandi, Tanya Lee Davies, Shazia Mirza and many more amazing women in comedy.
This year’s festival promises many more amazing women in comedy shows attending their exclusive event.
Highlights include Femmes Themes showcasing the best female and non-binary comedy talent, hosted by show creator Alex Stringer. Steff Todd – Guestlist, Hayley Ellis – Who Knows, Harriet Dyer – Mother, Kiri Pritchard -McLean, Helen Bauer – Grand Supreme Darling Princess, Anna Thomas, Lindsey Santoro – Pink Tinge, Lori Smith – Life Before Paul, Sarah Levine – Big Vag Energy, Thenjiwe Moseley – The Mandela Effect, Flat The Curves and many more incredibly talented women in comedy.
