Synopsis

Liam is thirty years old, married with three kids and works on construction sites. He’s never been out of work. He accepts a job that takes him to the other side of the country from Sunday to Friday and he rents a room in the house of an openly gay journalist called Neal. Slowly but surely, they fall in love, and it knocks Liam for six. He’s never had feelings for another man before and yet he feels like he’s found the missing piece of his life.

But when he tells his wife Gina and he finds out what she’s been getting up to whilst he’s been away, his problems are only just beginning.  

'With this one' David explains 'I really wanted to show how strong and united a gay couple can be when faced with potentially life threatening adversity. Neal adores his 'Geordie boy' Liam and because of what they're forced to deal with their relationship goes from 0 to 100 almost in one go. Plus there's Liam's three kids to look after too. It's thought provoking but it's also an entertaining read. And that's my job as a novelist. To write an entertaining story that reflects contemporary life. And also. for me, to portray gay relationships as being positive and strong. I hope I've done all of those things with 'The Third Wife'.
