Stockport Pride 22
Plans are progressing on the return of Stockport's annual LGBT+ festival to Stockport's Historic Market Place this summer.
Due to be the first in-person LGBTQ+ event in Stockport's Historic Market Place since 2019, it will include a range of entertainment and stalls.
Stockport-based organisation HURST is one of the sponsors of this year's event. As one of the UK's leading independent accountancy firms, they provide strategic and visionary guidance to help their clients aim higher and achieve more.
Filling the streets of the town centre with rainbows, a parade will be taking place on the day. Starting a short walk from Hurst's headquarters, the march will start on Bridgefield Street, travel up to Suffragette Square, through Merseyway and up to Stockport's Historic Market Place.
Stockport Pride's Chairperson, Stephen Bowyer, said "It will be amazing to be able to hold our first event since the start of the pandemic, and the support of firms such as HURST is invaluable in helping the community and demonstrates a dedication to equality, diversity and inclusion."
Organisations supporting this year's festival include musicMagpie, Stockport Homes, Adoption Counts, The Ted Darling Crime Novels, Mosscare St Vincent’s Housing Group, Sector3, Lynx Taxis, Totally Stockport and The National Lottery Community Fund.
Stockport Pride will be free and open for all to attend in Stockport's Historic Market Place from 11am until 6pm on Sunday 31st July, with plenty going on for the whole family.
