Maya Manchester opens in Gay Village

Maya Manchester opens in Gay Village

Scottie Bhattarai the man behind Mayfair's renowned venue Isabel's, has opened MAYA MANCHESTER this week to rave reviews following it's major refurbishment of 40 Chorlton St.

Guests to MAYA will initially encounter the brasserie space, set on ground level with sweeping daylight and views of the familiar cobbles of Canal Street.

Customers will enjoy a modern-European style menu of brasserie classics in a bright, lightly toned and open space.

Mancunian Head Chef Gabe Lea, formerly of The French at The Midland Hotel and Le Manoir,  has created a dining experience centred around ingredient-led, hyper-seasonal and regularly changing menus, all served by a friendly team under GM Geja Poudel.

Descending further down into the venue, guests will next experience the Dining Room, a well-appointed space with an oval-fluted destination bar topped with Calacatta Oro marble and 'crowned by a golden gantry to take advantage of the ceiling heights in this space'.

Dark, intimate and moody, with its deep blue furnishings and gold fixtures, this room has its own a la carte offer, and a drinks menu featuring a number of signature cocktails and pours.

Another level below, there's a final space to explore, THE PUMP ROOM, a secluded and hidden lounge bar where guests are informed that there is a strict no-phones policy.

2 days ago NEW REVIEW

"MAYA is the reason to start visiting the village again. In the era of hen parties and cheap alcohol offers, MAYA offers an extremely welcome addition to Canal street/Chorlton Street.

As a place to dine the food was excellent (the short rib was cooked to perfection) and the service was second to none (Hannah was an absolute delight)

Scottie the owner was friendly and welcoming too.

The lower floors had an amazing vibe. Definitely give it a go.

Can’t wait to go back."
