Kings award for voluntary service

Kings award for voluntary service

November 2023

On Tuesday 14th November it was King Charles II’s 75th birthday.  As part of his birthday, the Kings Award for Voluntary Service, the MBE for voluntary groups is announced.

We are delighted to share the news that the  Bury LGBTQI+ Forum has been awarded such an honour.

The group aims to drive the group forward with ideas and activities to improve the visibility of LGBTQI people and receive and give support to the local LGBTQI community.

Organiser David Catterall says

"We're delighted to announce our volunteers for the Bury LGBTQI+ Forum has just been awarded The King’s Award for Voluntary Service!

This is the highest award a local voluntary group can receive in the UK and is equivalent to an MBE.

Congratulations to all our volunteers! And thank you for everything you do"
