This October (29-31) welcomes the long-awaited live return of Fat Out Fest, bringing all the noise, queer energy and mayhem to Salford over Halloween weekend. With 60+ artists performing across five spaces in Regents Trading Estate, The White Hotel and The Old Pint Pot, the festival is returning in true Fat Out style for their first edition since 2017.

Fat Out, working with curatorial partners Body Horror, Bollox, Box Records, Brave Exhibitions Festival, Counterflows Festival, Creatures of Catharsis, Gross Indecency and Upset the Rhythm, will bring a collaborative celebration of the obscure, the legendary, and the surprising creators of music and visual arts.

Weekend and Day tickets for the live event are now on sale, and the festival will also feature an online programme co-curated with its partners and showcasing new digital art from AJA x Bora, Bertie Marshall, Creatures of Catharsis presents A La Folie … Into the Madness, DMBQ, Dorcha

Handle, Marilyn Misandry, Merlin Nova. Fat Out Fest Online is free and open to all, anywhere across the world, via fatout.info.

Friday 29th October is GROSS INDECENCY at The White Hotel, an eclectic mix of drag, DJs, live bands and performance art, featuring writer,  performer, acclaimed memoirist and founding member of punk’s ‘Bromley Contingent’ Bertie Marshall (Behaviour Red), alongside autodidactic Bristol-based producer and vocalist, Grove, who meddles together elements of punk-infused dancehall, jungle, bass and pop, plus Manchester’s very own all girl punk grunge band Witch Fever, among many more.

Saturday 30th October will see a rare live show from CROWW; hung between ambience and aggression, light and dark, their ever evolving sets mean you can never know what you will be on the receiving end of. There will also be an AV show from UKAEA as they transmit from their scrambled frequency, as well as a DJ set from Ifeoluwa, full of twisted electronics and club styles pulled from across the globe, and of course Fat Out’s legendary Karaoke Dungeon.

During Sunday 31st October, Regents Trading Estate performances include sonic and visual over stimulation from AJA, while Gnod’s new live band incarnation brings crushing, cataclysmic new protest music, and Manchester based collaborators The Untold Orchestra will perform Nina Simone.

Later that evening CREATURES at The White Hotel is the official Halloween Fat Out Fest after party curated by Creatures of Catharsis, featuring DJs from High Hoops, Manchester’s utopian club hedonistic blend of house, disco, techno, electro and all the genres in between, and the inimitable vogue collective House of Ghetto, alongside Banksie, Jungle Julia, and many more.
