David Hoyle live at The Brewers Canal St

David Hoyle LIVE @ The Brewers Manchester 5th October, 2nd November, 7th December

David returns with a new series of shows packed with wit, wisdom and humanity in the heart of gay village.

David is the original performance avalanche – an all singing, all raging bona-fide performance legend. He has appeared in his own Channel 4 TV series, in films and on-stages worldwide. For tonight The Brewers is his home and you, the audience, his family – ‘only in unity’, David tells us, ‘will we find strength’.

‘The greatest living performer’ – Justin Vivian Bond

‘He is raw, sometimes frightening, but also thrilling in his look-no-hands recklessness’ – The Guardian

‘There is nothing quite like it: bold and unique, electrifying and disarmingly humane’ – Time Out

David Hoyle, winner of ‘ICON’ and ‘ORIGINALITY’ – QX Awards 2019.

About David Hoyle:

David is one of our most prolific LGBTQ Performance artists, he first came to prominence to the wider world on Channel Four with the Divine David, an anti drag artist character developed in the gay clubs of Manchester with a cult following. He became such an underground sensation that it was only a matter of time before TV producers sought him out and he was commissioned to make two series of shows featuring his alter ego.

David then famously killed off the Divine David in a spectacular show at Streatham Ice Rink.

Since then David has been continuously creating work across the UK and abroad working solo or in collaboration with other artists, most recently Justin Vivian Bond for Manchester International Festival in July of this year.

David was one of the original gender fluid drag performers, his lacerating, funny and white knuckle ride shows are a cult favourite on the queer and cabaret scene.
