BangBang’s mouth raises money for charity!

It was one sunny afternoon that that doyenne of international organisation “The Sisters Of Perpetual Indulgence” Sister BangBang received what was to become a fortuitous phone call. “I get hundreds of phone calls and emails every day” says BangBang. “Most just contact me to beg for beauty advice and tips on how to become a fashion icon, which I just have to share when I see their desperate faces looking up at me”.

This particular phone call, though, was from the LGBTQI+ group of a very big international technology company. “They pleaded with me to talk,” smiles Sister BangBang. “which is something, apparently I’m good at! My diary was full and as I had another nail to paint, I turned them down.”

Things took a sudden change when they group leader offered something Sister BangBang just could not refuse. “No, it wasn’t a long weekend down in Tom Hardy’s cellar. Again. This time it was the lure of a donation of hard cash going to one of my favourite charities for me to talk about HIV stigma and spreading love and joy!”.

One hour of chatting to those in the UK and USA ensured that the George House Trust benefitted to the tune of an amazing £2500! “Not a bad hourly rate, eh?” grins BangBang.

“It was a total pleasure to be able to talk about something so very close to my heart. I’ve been HIV+ for over seven years now and have witnessed HIV stigma first-hand. So, helping to educate others was an amazing opportunity which I grabbed with both gloved hands”, says BangBang. “And the George House Trust really does such amazing work in helping many, many people who are living with HIV every single day.”

Darren Knight, Chief Exec of the George House Trust, went on to say “George House Trust are hugely grateful to Sister BangBang for representing George House Trust and raising money to support people living with HIV in their recent talk given to a well-known technology company. Sister BangBang is a wonderful ally raising awareness about HIV and breaking down stigma. Thank you Sister BangBang!”
