Vivienne De Vil at Waterside Arts

With one look - Tribute to Iconic Women of musical theatre - Vivienne de vil

Hello Darlings - show starts with Vivienne declaring camera are allowed “but only take my good side”. The jokes and punts at the audience number the sequins on Vivienne dress, which is a super laugh.

Vivienne takes us on a journey of classical musical theatre best hits shows, throws some excellent shade, stupendous outfits and classic tongue and cheek humour combining to create a must-see show.

She takes us on a whistle-stop tour of some of the leading ladies of musical theatre. We all know the genre and hitting the notes is the name of the game, well Vivienne doesn’t disappoint and James her piano player dazzles while tickling his ivories.

Vivienne's life is like a scene from Cats with the story of an older star finding life isn’t what it was. Now Vivienne's life is starting to role again just as the pandemic begins to subside and not just in the west end.

Well ViRing ring goes the 1950s telephone with some greats of music theatre calling and of course iconic Elaine Paige calls leading to Vivienne smashing out ‘Memory’.

One of the particular favourite parts was the tribute session where Vivienne remembers everyone lost in the pandemic, plus some greats that are no longer with us. I personally found the number persuasive and a perfect tribute to those lost.

We all love a bit of tongue in cheek humour coupled with a selection of great musical numbers from some of the biggest shows, so this one woman show is perfect on all fronts.
