Graham Gouldman

Graham Gouldman

When Graham Gouldman formed what became Heart Full of Songs six years ago, it was purely for the pleasure of playing his songs in their simplest form. The acoustic four-piece now regularly tours across Europe and comprises Graham, Ciaran Jeremiah, Dave Cobby, and either Iain Hornal, Nick Kendal or Andy Park (depending on their various commitments).

Last night at The RNCM a packed house came out to see Graham Gouldman and gave him a very warm welcome in his home city as you would expect. Playing with 3 other musicians and a range of guitars, it was a great acoustic sound, with some familiar songs given a reworking to reflect this.

As well as familiar 10CC hits like Good Morning Judge and Dreadlock Holiday, I was very pleasantly surprised to note he also wrote hits for Yardbirds, Herman’s Hermits and others in the 60’s. Newer material from recent albums and an interesting anecdote  with pretty much every song he played and sang, it was a lovely evening all round.

A standing ovation was very much deserved at the end.
