The Molly House recognised by the prestigious Coravin Guide as one of just seven Manchester venues for exceptional wine by the glass
The Molly House has been recognised by the prestigious Coravin Guide, becoming one of just seven venues in Manchester to be featured for its exceptional wine by the glass programme.
Awarded a One Glass distinction, The Molly House joins a select group of venues across the UK celebrated for making premium wines more accessible by the glass. The recognition reflects the venue’s commitment to offering guests the opportunity to discover exceptional wines without the commitment of purchasing an entire bottle.
Located in the heart of Manchester’s Gay Village, The Molly House offers more than 30 carefully curated wines by the glass, including Domaine Roc de l’Abbaye “L’Antique” Sancerre and Allegrini Palazzo della Torre.
Using Coravin’s innovative wine preservation technology, wines are poured while keeping the cork in place, helping preserve the freshness and quality of the remaining bottle. This allows guests to enjoy premium wines by the glass while ensuring every pour is served in exceptional condition.
For The Molly House, however, the recognition is about much more than technology. It reflects a philosophy of championing wines with character and introducing guests to bottles they are unlikely to encounter elsewhere.
James Fairclough, Wine Curator at The Molly House, said:
“I am obsessed and determined to find and feature wines that have fallen out of favour or that I have discovered whilst travelling and have not yet made their domestic presence felt.”
He added:
“Being recognised by the Coravin Guide is fantastic because it celebrates exactly what we’re trying to achieve at The Molly House, making exceptional wines accessible, one glass at a time. We want people to feel confident trying something new, whether it’s a producer they’ve never heard of or a style of wine they’ve never tasted before.”
“This is only the beginning. We’re already expanding our wine by the glass selection and look forward to introducing even more exciting wines as we continue working towards the next level of recognition in the Coravin Guide.”
For more than 15 years, The Molly House has been a cornerstone of Manchester’s Gay Village, serving authentic tapas alongside an expertly curated range of real ales, craft beers, cocktails, spirits and wines.
Its wine programme has quietly become one of the city’s most distinctive, focusing on overlooked producers, forgotten grape varieties and discoveries from James’ travels across Europe. Recognition from the Coravin Guide reinforces The Molly House’s ambition to become one of the UK’s leading destinations for wine by the glass.
Whether you’re an experienced wine enthusiast or simply curious to try something different, The Molly House invites guests to discover more than 30 exceptional wines by the glass, with even more exciting additions planned in the coming months.
