Prestwich Pride is back this summer (Thursday 6 to Sunday 9 August) with a four day programme that brings the village together, filling local venues and community spaces with queer culture, creativity and connection.

Now in its fifth year, Prestwich Pride has grown by staying rooted in the place it calls home. Built with local people, venues and businesses, the weekend blends music, performance, participation and fundraising into a Pride shaped by its community.

Events will take place across Prestwich at venues including Cuckoo, Wallop, Hideout and Panama Hatty’s, each hosting a different part of the programme.

A full weekend of Pride, from daytime to late night

The celebrations begin on Thursday 6 August with the return of Drag Me To The Quiz with Miss Blair at Hideout Bar, followed on Friday 7 August by Panama Hatty’s Pride Supper Club.

Saturday 8 August is the busiest day of the line-up. It starts with the Prestwich Run Club and a family friendly Pop’n’Olly Event at Icons, before the focus shifts to a full afternoon to late night takeover at Cuckoo.

The Cuckoo Takeover: a Pride party built for Prestwich

Each year, Cuckoo hosts a multi floor, all day Pride takeover. It’s free to attend and always draws a lively mix of locals, regulars and visiting friends.

This year’s headliners are Prestwich Pride alumni and local favourites Take Me To Church and Nick Charles, who bring the night home across the two floors.

They’re joined by a wide mix of Northern queer artists and collectives including Disco Doyenne, DJ Tasha, Ben Found, LoveParty, DJ BBYGRL, Angus Park and Proud Time DJs, with performances from Beverly Tightlipps and Ellie Ganza.

Wallop will also be running a full day of celebrations, with their line up announced closer to the weekend.

The weekend winds down on Sunday

Sunday offers a slower close to the festival with Queer Life Drawing with Hop at Cuckoo, a relaxed and creative way to end the weekend together.

Pride that gives back

Fundraising remains central to Prestwich Pride. The annual Prestwich Pride Raffle returns with prizes donated by local businesses and national partners, raising money for LGBTQ+ charities including ‘George House Trust’ who inspire people living with HIV to live healthy and confident lives, and also ‘Out In The City’ a local Manchester support group for over 50s LGBTQ+.

The Prestwich Pride Window Trail also returns, with Myro Doodles designing the Pride‑themed windows for businesses taking part.

Rooted in place

Speaking ahead of the announcement, Matthew Cooper, Director and Communications Lead for Prestwich Pride, said: “Prestwich Pride has grown by staying true to the community around it. This year’s programme brings together local venues, established names from Manchester’s queer nightlife and emerging Northern talent, all while raising money for causes that matter. It’s a Pride built with its community, and that’s exactly how we want it to feel.”
