We are delighted to report that David Needham was recently awarded the Carl Alan award by the Theatre Dance Council International at a glamorous awards dinner in Blackpool.
After several previous nominations, David’s 50 year career was final recognised for his unique contribution to musical theatre in the UK.
Over the years, Over the years David has created work associated with Legendary famous names such as Kander and Ebb, Sondheim and Sandy Wilson plus having worked with with numerous stars from the West End and Broadway creating his own brand of innovotive choreography for a long list of lauded, award winning shows.
Cadishead born and Salford based, Needham represents the finest that our region has to offer and remains a Patron of the Hammond School in Chester where he recently retired following 30 years training and developing thousands of young, talented performers.
The Carl Alan Award is generally considered to be the Oscars of the dance world and previous winners of this award include Wayne Sleep, Matthew Bourne, Torvill and Dean and Arlene Phillips to name just a few.
