Disorderly House is set in 1927. A private party in Fitzroy Square. Sensational dancer Bobby Britt hosts an exuberant event for a bohemian group of guests. A party in full swing. But the entertainment crashes down when the police raid and Bobby is arrested for keeping a ‘disorderly house’.

A true story brought to life and a celebration of LGBTQ+ history and the pioneering individuals that would otherwise be forgotten.

This opera is composed by Jasper Dommett (Ivor Novello Nominee 2020), with libretto by Jessica Walker (Oper Leipzig, Wigmore Hall, Opera North, Royal Exchange Theatre) and is one of four operas that will be performed as part of Buxton International Festival’s Shorts.
Four brand new operas by the best contemporary composers and theatre makers. Don’t miss it.
