“Food should be social, it should be enjoyed, it should be honest, and it should have identity, it should also be talked about”
This is the mantra of the GOURMET GAYS who have set up the regions only Gay Supper Club in their home..
GG recently hosted a table for six in their apartment (it’s like going out for a meal but you go to someone’s home instead) were they had a very successful evening with Emma Goswell and a few others from Gaydio, the theme of which was ‘Shiny Disco Balls’. All the food was ball shaped and they played disco and had shiny balls all around the apartment.
All the events are themed, with the next as you can see from the link below, being ‘Some like it hot – Banish those chilli nights’, a perfect January warmer, 10-15 courses of different chilli’s to get an understanding of their flavours.
Organiser Stephen Blades said ‘We aim to provide a relaxed, chilled environment to enjoy food with great company.’
What’s their aim moving forward ? Stephen further comments ‘In the future we would like to do some single’s nights for foodie gays next year, plus some charity events and plan to cater for other events outside our supper clubs. Supper clubs are a very underground scene and relatively new within the northern gay scene, although we have to point out we are not exclusively gay, we are gay run, but the events are open to all!’
Below are details for the forthcoming planned events…
