Maya, on the corner of Canal and Chorlton Streets has a very special offer of 50% off food during January. We went along for the Sunday roast and were not disappointed.
The choice was between roast beef sirloin, roast chicken crown, or a spiced cauliflower steak. All of them come with the usual trimmings and we opted for a side dish of pigs in blankets too.
We opted for the beef and the chicken. Both were really good, but the pigs were a bit soggy and could have done with a few more minutes in the oven.
For dessert we opted for the tart with ice cream and the cheeseboard. Again, both were good, and the cheeseboard would have fed two people more than comfortably.
For wine we opted for a dry rosé – which for Canal Street cardholders attracted the usual discount. Alternatively, you can go wild with limitless bubbles or beer for a supplement.
The brasserie and main restaurant were both very busy, but service wasn’t rushed, so we had a 2nd bottle.
Several walk ins were also disaapointed as they could not be accomodated.Lets hope they booked for next week.
