Liberty Festival
The LGBT+ Liberty Festival is an celebration of Mancunian LGBT/queer culture taking place in solidarity with the National Equality March for Unity in Pride in Washington DC, marking the first anniversary of the Orlando attack – and organisers want as many people as possible to be involved!
In the revolutionary, radical spirit of Manchester, this festival of creative activism will show solidarity with our American LGBT+ family, embarking on their crucial Pride Protest marches, fighting Trump’s move towards the repeal of hard-won LGBT+ rights, and for global queer solidarity.
Members of Manchester’s LGBT+ community and their allies will send a creative message of solidarity via The LGBT+ Liberty Festival. The festival is coordinated by Somewhere, a new Manchester LGBT+ arts and cultural CIC, and Instigate Arts, a Manchester arts organisation who create positive, progressive social change through arts production and participation.
The festival is supported by some of the city’s best LGBT events and parties including cabaret night A Queer Revue!, Manchester’s gay film club Make a Scene and pop-up charity disco, Love Party.
