Funny Women

Recently in the 15th year of the Funny Women Awards, there was a regional awards ceremony for the northern region, at Tribeca.

These awards have been around the UK and Ireland to find the newest and best female comedy talent and again presented the best of the bunch competing for a place in the grand final.

The Funny Women Awards have left a massive impression on the UK comedy scene. Previous winners and finalists include Bridget Christie, Zoe Lyons, Sara Pascoe, Desiree Burch, Kerry Godliman, London Hughes, Susan Calman, Katherine Ryan and last year’s winner, Harriet Braine, who is already making a name for herself.

‘I had just started stand-up comedy when I won the award, and loads has changed since then. Funny Women provided me with lots of friends, advice, and exposure.’
