Streamathon for LGBT community

Streamathon for LGBT community

We're LGBT+ and Friends, a friendly community built by the LGBT+ community for the LGBT+ community. Why are we here? We're here to create a safe space for all LGBT+ people, but also to come together, make friends, have fun and support the community at large.

We started in 2020 with the aim of giving the community a space to meet due to the ongoing isolation cause my COVID-19 and the lockdowns that have taken place across the globe.

Overtime the community has grown and developed further and one of focusses going forward is the support for the wider community. Our first event is a Streamathon which is taking place  on 26th June 2021, raising money for the Mermaids charity as was voted for by our community. A Streamathon is like a relay race, passing the torch on to the next streamer and hoping to raise as much money as possible for our chosen charity.

We plan on organising community nights (which will be run by the community) where we will watch Films together, or play games together via online play. There is space for voice chat within our server as well for those wishing to get involved.

As an LGBT+ server, we also tackle some subjects in regards to our daily lives, and be there for those who wish to ask questions, wish to understand more and wish to get more involved. Therefore we may start discussions (as can anyone) about subjects we think many will have different experiences of, ready for anyone who may question things themselves.

One thing we want you all to know, is that this is YOUR community. A space to be your authentic self, but also to grow and change as you see fit. All changes which affect the community, are discussed with it first to ensure we are doing right by everyone.

We hope to see you there!
