Salford Pride to take over Peel Park for The Pink Picnic 2019

Salford Pride to take over Peel Park for The Pink Picnic 2019

The event is to take place on Saturday 22nd June and will see a wide range of acts perform in the park as well as exhibitors from Salford and Greater Manchester presenting their support services for the LGBT+ community. This year’s celebration will also feature a Youth Zone for the first time ever, which is a safe space for Salford’s LGBT+ young people and their friends.

Headlining the main stage this year, is X Factor 2006 finalist Lloyd Daniels, Jordon Gray from The Voice UK and pop legend, Kelly Wilde. Other acts include SuRie, Britain’s Got Talent finalists, The Showbears, PJ Robinson and Ellie Ganza all of which will be presented by local drag superstars Blaq Ivory and Viva La Diva.

Salford Pride welcome everyone to come and join in with the festivities, whether you are LGBT+ or allies of the community and prides itself on the family friendly and community feel.

The official after-party is being hosted in partnership with the University of Salford Students’ Union bar- Atmosphere. The free, ticketed event will host local LGBT+ DJ’s from the local area and Manchester Gay Village residents such as Bex Hill, Dave Dullage and Gaydio’s Kriss Herbert. The evening celebrations will also see Ariana Grande tribute act, Melissa T, take to the stage. The event will be hosted by resident drag queen, Venus, Gaydio’s Joe Wilmot.

Although The Pink Picnic is a free event, this year will see the launch of their first ever VIP tent, in collaboration with Absolut. For £20, picnic goers will receive free food, three free drinks from Absolut and a meet and greet with the main stage acts. VIP’s will also receive guaranteed entry to the official after-party.

Tickets for both events can be ordered through Fatsoma (www.fatsoma.com/salfordpride) and any funds raised on the day will go towards next year’s The Pink Picnic and other Salford Pride events.
