Mark the 40th anniversary of the first episode of Change of Sex, as a homage to transgender former owner of Manchester's Hollywood Showbar, and subject of the ground breaking BBC series, Julia Grant, who passed away this year, with the festival’s screening of two episodes from the archive

Discover phenomenal queer creativity in visual storytelling with a screening of eleven award winning animations

Organisers of the Queer Media Festival have announced details of their sixth festival to be held over two days with award winning animations, documentaries on trans history, geeks and gaming, retro TV screenings and drag performances at HOME arts centre, Manchester, England. 

Jamie Starboisky, Queer Media’s Festival Director, commented:

“This year’s festival aims to evolve queer narratives, either through re-examining the past with new perspectives or looking to the future using new platforms to tell queer stories”
