Pride edition suitcases to raise funds for AKT
The former Lord Mayor of Manchester and now LGBT Advisor to the great city, Carl Austin-Behan, has designed a range of travel cases dedicated to celebrating LGBT pride.
Carl, the first openly gay Lord Mayor of Manchester and the UK has teamed up with travel accessory designer and manufacturer Kitkase, to create the special range which is raising funds for The Albert Kennedy Trust.
The idea for the bold ‘Pride Edition’ range came about after Carl saw the great work Kitkase were doing for the WE LOVE MCR fund by creating the Manchester Worker Bee cases, a favourite of celebrities such as David Beckham, Olly Murs and many more. He quickly contacted the company and in a matter of months they produced a range designed by Carl and dedicated to supporting the LGBT community with 25% of the profits going to a National Young Persons Homeless Charity – The Albert Kennedy Trust.
Currently there are two products available to pre-order; one with ‘PRIDE’ embossed on the case, and the other with the Manchester Bee embossed, giving reference to where the idea was born; Manchester.
Carl said “I’m so proud of what myself and Kitkase have created. These cases should not only appeal to those that are part of the LGBT community, but anyone who is proud of the rainbow flag and what it represents i.e. Diversity, Equality, Inclusion and Love. I hope everyone gets behind these. What better way to show PRIDE than to share it with others when traveling.”
The Founders of Kitkase said “We were very honoured getting to work with Carl on these special edition cases. Our company mantra is ‘Travel with Pride’ and this range in particular offered perfect symmetry with our strapline. Although supporting an LGBT charity, the cases have meaning much deeper due to their rainbow design; a universal sign of pride and hope.”
The two case designs are available to pre-order now via link below and are priced at £54.99 with 25% of profits going to The Albert Kennedy Trust.
