Outstageus 2019
Now in its third year, OutStageUs will celebrate new LGBT+ writing from Greater Manchester and beyond. A night of drama, comedy, film and spoken word to showcase our region’s unique LGBT+ community.
In this, the 50th anniversary year of the Stonewall Riots, when the New York Police Department raided the Stonewall Inn, a gay bar in New York’s Greenwich Village, OutStageUs will present works that reflect the past, present and future of LGBT+ activism.
It's sure to be a funny, outrageous, touching and uplifting journey down the cobbles of Canal Street with short plays written by some of the region’s most exciting writers.
The producers are currently looking for submissions from writers across the region that tell LGBT+ stories. As it's the 50th Anniversary of The Stonewall Uprising, they're particularly keen to receive stories which reflect the past, present and future of LGBT+ activism.
Last year's event showcased six new pieces of theatre, dance and spoken word with both nights almost completely sold out.
Hope want to showcase the diversity of Manchester's LGBT+ community and are therefore keen to receive submissions from trans and female identifying writers.
SUBMISSIONS CLOSE ON 31ST JULY AT 12:00
