Out Stage Us puts call out
After a sell-out run last year at Hope Mill Theatre, Hope Theatre Company presents Outstageus, a night of LGBT+ drama and comedy. This annual celebration of new writing showcases Greater Manchester’s unique LGBT+ community.
Expect a funny and outrageous journey down the cobbles of Canal Street with short plays written by some of the region’s most exciting established and new writers.
Outstageus will be at The Lowry’s Studio theatre on Monday 17th and Tuesday 18th September, with a post-show discussion following the show on Monday.
This year’s Outstageus will feature the latest instalment of Jock Night Adam Zane’s sexy theatrical soap opera set on the night of Eagle Bar’s legendary club night.
This is a night celebrating Manchester's gay community and exploring LGBT+ themes from our city and across the globe.
Hope Theatre Company are looking for diverse submissions that reflect Manchester’s vibrant and inclusive LGBT+ community and want to hear from voices rarely heard, telling stories rarely told.
Producer Mike Lee said “We’re particularly looking for submissions from trans, gender-fluid and BAME writers. It can be a monologue, spoken word or a short play – we want to encourage new diverse writers with stories to tell”. Hope are also be offering mentorship with professional writers to work with new LGBT+ writers.
