LGBT Foundation launches new stop smoking support network

LGBT Foundation launches new stop smoking support network

A new safe and confidential online space for all within the LGBTQIA+ community, wherever they are on their quitting journey, is being launched with the first of its support sessions this Stoptober.

The LGBT Stop Smoking Support Network has been set up by LGBT Foundation – recognising that LGBTQIA+ people may be disproportionately affected by smoking, and they may struggle to access health services when trying to quit smoking.

These sessions, commencing virtually from 19th October, will offer a safe space to share stories about your quit journey, as well as share support with others across the network and share your personal tips.

Whether you have quit smoking, you’re planning to quit or even if you’re just thinking about it, you are welcome to join. LGBT Foundation’s support networks are for all who identify within the LGBTQIA+ community – inclusive of trans women and trans men, non-binary and gender fluid people, people of colour, people of faith, older people and disabled people.

However, please be aware that this event is for ages 18+ and it is not a clinically-led session. It’s not intended to provide medical support, access to any stop smoking aids or expert stop smoking advice.

You can sign up to the first session from LGBT Foundation’s new Stop Smoking Support Network on Eventbrite. It’s completely free to sign up and attend. VIA READ MORE below.
