Ashton on Mersey Cricket Club is a long-established local club with a forward-looking attitude. Based just 6 miles south of Manchester City Centre, the club has a secluded riverside home ground “The Beets”, which it has called its home since 1919.

The club is registered as a Community Amateur Sports Club with a proud open membership policy and welcoming atmosphere. It encourages participation in the sport from all communities and abilities also cherishes its reputation as a friendly place to enjoy the game both on and off the field.

Ashton on Mersey run four senior Men’s cricket teams and one Women’s team that play in the competitive Cheshire Cricket structure. It strongly supports junior cricket through structured coaching and both competitive and development teams.

The club benefits from full outdoor netting facilities and provides both senior and junior support through a number of in-house ECB qualified coaches.

Recent years have seen a rolling programme of investment in the cricket club’s infrastructure, including the arrival of an upgraded score box, scoreboard and a full bar refurbishment. The modern bar and lounge area are complimented by a large function room which is used for both internal and external events.
