The Futureheads at RNCM
Saturday 23rd October to RNCM to see Futureheads for the Manchester Folk Festival
Supported by Native Harrow, a 2 piece folk rock band who were a perfect warm up for the much anticipated rare occasion of a very different outing for Futureheads. Delightful guitar, piano, lyrics and delicate melodies with hints at times of June Cash, Edie Brickell and Joni Mitchell. A warm response from the audience and rightly so. From US and now living in Brighton, they will be back in Manchester in December.
Billed as a rare a capella/acoustic show and having seen Futureheads previously, we were unsure what to expect. No disappointments. Wonderful harmonies with the a capella songs and some stunning unexpected covers of Kelis and Sparks songs. Lots of banter and audience participation ( much enjoyed ) and some wonderful renditions of traditional songs including A Keeper Went Hunting and Beeswing. Absolutely beautifully done and every song rapturously received by those present.
If you can get along to any of this tour, then do so, highly recommend.
Thanks to all staff at RNCM, really enjoyable evening out. Bar, box office, FOH and chaps on the door, all professional and lovely.
