Laura Mvula live

MOBO winner and a nominee for several other profile awards, Laura Mvula played live in Manchester recently and we were there.

Kirsty Devlin reviews..

"Laura's personal shyness and soulful melodic vibes vibrated through the gorilla hall last night.

Angelic, free and at times heart broken.

I stood next to a grown man who stood there with whom I suspect was his wife/ partner: lover, with tears rolling down his face. Laura clearly struck a note or two. With whom I feel he longed for someone else. Whether that be another woman or for Laura herself!

I've never seen Gorilla so busy, even the Albert Schloss owner struggling to get in on the action!

A fun loving vibrant crowd filled after a sensational performance from Jodie Abucus, whom I spoke to at the bar who was on his way to Sweden in the morning.

Great crowd and great sense of diversity something that can be lacking in certain musical occasions.
