Worker Bee Markets expand

Fantastic local support hails new Artisan Markets for Bramhall and Heald Green

Following the success of the first event, the Worker Bee Market returns on 17 June to the 3rd Bramhall Scout Hut, Linney Road, SK7 3JW with markets planned for 19 August, 21 October and 16 December and a brand new event at Nixon’s Farm Shop, Outwood Farm, SK8 3PS on 15 July. Markets run 11am-3pm.

Upto 50 contemporary designer makers and producers will literally pitch up with an exceptional selection of artwork, cakes and sweet treats, streetfood and cooking ingredients, plants, jewellery, ceramics, food and homeware. You can even grab a glass of something, a freshly brewed coffee, fantastic cheeses and fresh bread as well as enjoy lunch from a selection of freshly made streetfood in Bramhall or homemade food from the farm’s own produce at Nixon’s.

Traders include chutney, gins and cordials from GRIBBIN & BEAR, who recently featured on Tom Kerridge's Top of the Shop; DORMOUSE CHOCOLATES, who won both first and second prize this month for their chocolate in the Small Food Awards; GINGER'S COMFORT EMPORIUM, named by Manchester Evening News as one of the 6 best ice cream makers in Greater Manchester. At least ten traders are from the Stockport area with two taking inspiration for their art from the town. A free stall on 17 June has been given to Stockport Signpost for Carers, a local charity supporting and promoting the role of carers in the town.

The mission is to bring Artisan Makers and Producers to local communities, making it easier for people to shop local and meet the makers and producers in person. Rather than expecting people to travel, the locations are easily accessible by foot for local residents.

The future is to find other communities who want to support local businesses too.
