Turing Bursary
The Alan Turing Bursary, a £1000 award plus the opportunity to undertake a week's work experience shadowing the IT departments of both easyJet and Manchester Airport, is to be offered to a promising student of computer sciences.
Manchester Pride CEO John Stewart said:
'“The Alan Turing Bursary is a marvellous foundation for any student wanting to advance their future career in this exciting and continually evolving field, and I welcome easyJet and Manchester Airport's support, as well as the endorsement of the Turing Centenary committee and his family. As Manchester is the site of Alan Turing’s pioneering work in Artificial Intelligence, and the birthplace the modern computer, it was felt that the award would be a fitting tribute to Turing's enduring legacy'.
