Thomas O'Grady at Royal Exchange

Thomas O'Grady at Royal Exchange

Mancunian artist Thomas O'Grady is set to showcase his multi-channel video installation - SLAUGHTERHOUSE FIVE: THE INSTALLATION: SO IT GOES - at Manchester's Royal Exchange Theatre.

The project is inspired by Kurt Vonnegut's seminal novel and was originally exhibited at the actual Slaughterhouse Five, Dresden as part of the 2013 Ostrale Contemporary Arts Festival.

The artist has since adapted his work for the Royal Exchange; identifying the parallel between both venues surviving significant war-time bomb attacks, both emerging to become internationally celebrated cultural centres.

The installation will feature large-scale projections on the walls of the Great Hall and smaller video screens in other areas of the foyer space.

It will run from Wednesday 28 May to Saturday 7 June alongside the world premiere production of Chris Farr's Bruntwood Prize winning play BRITANNIA WAVES THE RULES - a fast and furious new drama about the effects of war.

SLAUGHTERHOUSE FIVE: THE INSTALLATION: SO IT GOES is kindly supported by Blitz Communications North.
