Sinead OConnor

Sinead OConnor

With her emotional delivery and confessional songs, Grammy Award winner Sinéad O’Connor has sold millions of albums. Brazenly outspoken, she was unlike any woman in pop music before her; sporting a shaven head and formless clothing, Sinéad O’Connor seemed to symbolically repudiate the stereotypical female pop star's image.

O'Connor's single Nothing Compares 2 U from her 1990 album, I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got, became a massive international hit, reaching number 1 in several countries and earning a Grammy Award for Best Alternate Music Performance.

In 2012 Sinéad released her 9th album, How About I Be Me (And You Be You)?, to great acclaim.

She appears at the Ramsbottom Festival on Sunday 15th September.
