New Lesbian clothing line launches

"We want to start off by telling you a bit about ourselves and tell you how DYKKE came about. We are Katy (left) & Kayleigh (right), hence the double K within DYKKE. We’re a bit obsessed with K&K, and passionate about making sure we are at the forefront of our brand. We have been together almost 4 years and have been inseparable since the day we met in Coyotes in Manchester Gay Village.

DYKKE came about when Kayleigh was frustrated at not being able to buy clothes that fit her curves and Katy was frustrated at the boring colours you find within men’s clothes shops. We knew there was a gap in the market for lesbian clothing, so that’s when we decided to put pen to paper and start designing clothes that we would wear for any occasion. We knew we wanted to make a statement with the name, but also make sure that the name meant something to us.

As you know, the word dyke is another name for a lesbian, but to us its more than that. Katy’s family name is Dyke and because we are family orientated we wanted to put that element in to our brand. As mentioned before, we’re obsessed with K&K so it just felt right to have a double K within DYKKE, still keeping the family element but also putting our stamp on it. We know that some people may be offended by the name, and will have their own reasons for not liking it, but to us it represents who we are and it means so much more. We hope you can see past the way ignorant people use the word dyke and see what we’re trying to achieve, and that is making a brand that represents lesbians of all ages and cultures.

We want to create styles that stand out from the crowd and colours that go beyond the norm. Our aim is to bring quality products to our customers that are affordable and long lasting. We hope to bring you new products on a regular basis, so your style can stay fresh and you can be at the top of your game. Please follow us on our socials as they will be the best place to find out our updates, and if you want to say hey or have some feedback then please drop us a message/email  info@dykke.co.uk
