Contact Shortlisted for Lever Prize 2014

Contact is delighted to announce that it has been shortlisted for the prestigious Lever Prize 2014. Awarded by the North West Business Leadership Team (NWBLT) in partnership with Arts and Business the prize includes a cash award and the opportunity to develop working relationships with some of the North West’s most influential business leaders.

Contact will give a formal presentation in front of a judging panel made up of NWBLT members in September.

Geoffrey Piper, CEO of NWBLT said, "We are very much looking forward to hearing from all the organisations shortlisted.  The number of high calibre Lever applications we have received from across the region has increased year on year and is reflected in this impressive shortlist. Through their Lever win this year, Hallé St Peter’s have developed a choir competition which is just about to commence – we hope to develop something equally exciting with the 2014 Lever Prize Winner".

Matt Fenton, Contact's Chief Executive and Artistic Director said, "The team at Contact are delighted to be shortlisted for this important award, especially on behalf of all the young people who are at the heart of our creative projects with businesses."

The other shortlisted organisations are Chester Performs, Liverpool and Merseyside Theatre Trust, Manchester Museum and The Royal Exchange Theatre.

Previous Lever winners include Liverpool Biennial in 2006, Manchester International Festival in 2007, Tate Liverpool in 2008, the National Football Museum in 2009.
