LEA DELARIA at Royal Exchange
LEA DELARIA:
THE LAST BUTCH
STANDING
The Royal Exchange Theatre
St Ann’s Square, Manchester
Tuesday 22 November at 8pm
Tickets £12 / £10
Manchester’s Royal Exchange Theatre continues its series of special one-off Tuesday events with a new show from talented singer, comedienne and political activist, Lea Delaria.
THE LAST BUTCH STANDING – which comes to the Exchange on Tuesday 22 November – mixes swinging jazz and blue comedy to explore what it’s like to be a bad ass dyke in the post Ellen 21st century.
Achieving fame and notoriety for her riotous comedic talents, Broadway diva Lea DeLaria matches a sassy, irreverent approach, razor sharp wit and equally spiky musical instincts with a gift for re-casting the most hackneyed pop or rock songs in a sparkling new light. The result is pure dynamite that’s as humorous as it is irrepressibly musical.
She was the first gay comic to perform on television in America. It was the shot heard round the world - catapulting her into international fame and controversy.

The show is one of a series of special extra events running alongside the Royal Exchange’s production of BEAUTIFUL THING by Jonathan Harvey (which runs from Wednesday 9 November to Saturday 3 December).
