Icon celebrates its first birthday

"Last year 2011 was the year that the independent Gay bars fought back in Manchester Gay Village.
One of which is icon Bar. It only seems like yesterday they pulled their pink sparkly curtain up to reveal an exsighting, friendly and definitely Kamp edition to the Gay Village, which has fitted in like a a pair of gold hot pants to Kylies' bum.

It managed almost over night to create a 'local bar' feel providing high standards with a, consistant friendly service and exceptional standards. There special events have become very popular and 'iconic' within themselves such as a hugely successful 'Moulin Rogue' themed Prdie, a packed out Christmas Day Party and even creating a cue of people trying to get into the climax of there very successful 'Eurofest' weekend.

As well as providing some iconic events in their annual calender they have managed to raise over £3,000 for various charity’s to which 'George House Trust' and Moni Malwai are very greatfull for. Quite recently icon have been key players in helping Sparkle secure enough money to pay for the event this year and are already helping with next. They are also playing host to the 'Sparkle Welcome Party on Friday 13th July.

To celebrate their 1st birthday, icon are hosting a 'Chicago Themed Spectacular. Some of the highlights are 'Deal or No Deal Cell-block special' on Friday 6th July, 'icon's Tribute' with various iconic Drag Queens from the Village performing various icons on Sunday 8th July. Icons Birthday itself Saturday 7th July with a black & white themed Chicago Party to remember. Icon have told us they have some major surprise in store through out the week. Our question is if they can do all this in year what surprises do they have in store for the year ahead.

Have a Happy Iconic Birthday!"
