Foundation at Tribeca

Foundation launches at tribeca on march 14th.

Two of  Manchester’s most successful and respected djs, andy daniels and david dunne, bring their “foundation” party to its new home of tribeca on saturday march 14th.  Dedicated to showcasing the best current house music, foundation aims to bring something different to the village.

The last couple of years have seen a bit of a comeback for quality house music”, says andy.  “we wanted to find the right home to play that music in the village and we are really happy about coming to tribeca”.

Both djs have worked together since the 90’s - they actually first met in equinox and formed a friendship and working partnership that has spanned two decades. Since then they have worked together constantly in their home town of manchester and all over the world, during their time as international resident djs for hed kandi during the best years of that brand. They also made a name for themselves as producers and remixers as “triple dee” with over 25 releases to their name.

“it’s all too easy for djs like us to get pigeonholed as just being ‘classics djs’, because we have been around for so long, and we do love the classics ”, says david, “but we both got into dj-ing back in the 80’s to play new music and we also respect the long history of gay clubs in manchester for breaking new musical sounds and trends -  it feels like it’s starting to go back to that in the village again. Back in the 90’s , if you played at paradise, then you had to be on point and looking forward musically. We hope that ‘foundation’ will echo that kind of vibe ”.

Both david and andy have been regular faces in the village since the 90’s where they played at the likes of paradise factory and manto, along with both djs having had residencies at queer and essential. David’s ‘triple dee radio show” has also been a firm friday night fixture on gaydio for the last four years.

“tribeca is a great venue and with the recent refurbishment and the introduction of other new nights like “qwerk”, we think it’s the ideal place for ‘foundation’”, says andy.  “both david and myself have been lucky enough to travel the world and play at some of the world’s best and biggest clubs like space ibiza and cocoon, but for a dj, you can’t beat playing music you really love to the right crowd, in the right club in your home town.”

“we aren’t doing this night for the money” says david. ”we are going to keep the door price low and make sure that there is somewhere for clubbers to go where they can hear really good new house music in an intimate space.”

Just announced...Special DJ appearance by Jamie Bull who of course is the main man behind the wildly successful HOMOELECTRIC

Foundation launches at tribeca on saturday march 14th and will be at tribeca every month. Advance tickets are at skiddle.com for £4.00
