Death of Margaret Beswick

Death of Margaret Beswick

Some very sad news that much loved Margaret Beswick passed away recently.

Marg died suddenly but peacefully at home with on 27th April 2011, her life partner Anne, was with her when she passed away, they were together for 37 years.

Marg had suffered with renal failure and was on heamodialysis three times a week but this didnt stop enjoying her life despite ongoing health problems.

She enjoyed trips to Canal Street to catch up with people that she knew and to watch the passers-by from Taurus's window. Marg enjoyed keeping in touch with people around the village and would always have a story to tell - she always enjoyed meeting people and having a chat, she had a knack of being able to strike up a converstation with all people.

She would tell me and Pam about the old gay bars when you had to knock on the front doors, when a hatch would be opened and if you were a familiar face you were allowed in Both Mum and Marg thought it was a really positive that now we could all could sit outside on the street with your partner!! That could have only been dreamt about in the 70's!!

She also used to talk abouth the Cheshire Cheese, Dickens with the terrible stairs (my mum said it was the pits but everybody went there!!) and driving Bunny Lewis around to his various gigs - maybe being a driver in the army prepared her for that!

Margaret alway remained heavily involved with the village, was a member of FFLAG, was involved with groups within the LGF at times when health allowed.

she will be missed by all family and friends
