YOUR CHANCE TO OWN A PIECE OF GAY CORRIE HISTORY

As Coronation Street prepares to celebrate its 50th anniversary, Manchester Pride is pleased to announce the sale of limited edition gay Corrie memorabilia.

Fans of both Pride and the long running soap will have the chance to purchase signed prints of cast members taken from Manchester Pride's 'Welcome to my World' exhibition.

Cast members include: Kym Marsh, Antony Cotton, Shobna Gulati, Helen Flanagan, Julie Hesmondhalgh, Sacha Parkinson and Brooke Vincent.

The 'Welcome to my World' exhibition took place in Selfridges, Manchester last August as part of Pride Fringe.

All of the shots have been taken by Rachel Joseph, a fashion and celebrity lifestyle photographer based in Manchester.

The signed prints are on now on sale and can be purchased from eBay www.eBay.co.uk or visit http://www.manchesterpride.com/getinvolved/auction All proceeds will be donated to Manchester Pride.

Coronation Street star Kym Marsh, said: “I was made up to be picked as one of 20 famous faces with strong links to the gay community. The pictures were all about playing up to gay stereotypes and my picture portrays a very strong female image. Rachel asked me to take part and, as I have a lot of gay and lesbian friends, I was delighted to get involved.”

Jackie Crozier, festival director of Manchester Pride, said: “We’ve been extremely fortunate to receive a huge amount support from recognisable faces such as the fantastic Kym Marsh, and our wonderful patron Antony Cotton. I would encourage all fanatic fans to start bidding now as these original prints won't hang around for long. They might even make the perfect Christmas present for a loved one, and all in aid of charity after all."
